The Annual RGS Alumni Golf Day is the opening event of the 2025 Old Elizabethans’ Reunion Weekend and promises to be a fun and social occasion with some super golf thrown in for good measure.
Date: Friday 11 September 2026
8.00am : Registration, Coffee & Bacon Rolls
9.00am : Multi-tee start (our ambition is to have a shotgun start with groups on all 18 holes)
1.30pm : Lunch and Prize Giving
2.45pm : Close
Cost : £55 (includes green fees, catering and prizes)
Carts may be hired by players directly through the pro shop.
Format
The aim of the day is to provide an event that caters for a range of playing abilities with the common theme being competitive but friendly golf amongst players who all share a connection to the School. There are several competitions to enter within the playing groups.
The Biggs Rodway Quaich (Stableford)
This is ‘four ball alliance with the best two scores on each hole to count’ with a 90% handicap allowance up to a maximum of 28. Valid handicap certificates are not necessary to play in this competition. We would therefore encourage you to pick up the phone to schoolfriends (and former teachers and RGS parents) and enter as a team of four. If this doesn’t work for you for whatever reason we will be happy to team up individual entrants and pairs so that no one misses out who wants to take part.
The Old Elizabethan Golf Cup (Stroke Play)
A competition open to gents who have a current valid handicap, best net score to win.
The Britannia Plate (Stableford)
A competition open to ladies, valid handicap certificates are not necessary to play in this competition, most points to win.
There will also be Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin along with some fun awards.
