Their performance demonstrated their determination, ability and skill on the water.
In the competitive Open J18 coxless quads category, alumnus Tobey Butler (2014-23), Harry Rutter (2015-23), Benjamin Koutrouki (2007-23), and Matthew Smith (2015-23) stood out. Their impressive qualification for the A final, secured by a mere 0.01-second margin, culminated in a commendable 6th place finish. This achievement marked the culmination of their successful season.
Also present at the British Rowing Championships was alumna Menna Sutton (2016-23) who faced challenging conditions in the WJ18 single sculls event. Despite the difficulties, she secured a place in the D final, showcasing her determination and sportsmanship. Over the summer Menna excelled in the Welsh beach sprint trials, earning a place in the mixed double, demonstrating her resilience and dedication to the Sport.
Menna’s Rowing journey continues as she prepared to represent Wales at the Home International Beach Sprints on 9 and 10 September in Saundersfoot (look out for more on this coming soon!).
Congratulations to all our OE rowers for such a successful summer!
