The A R Wheeler Bursary Fund is named for Anthony Reay Wheeler, a teacher at RGS from 1950 until his retirement in 1987. During this time he became Housemaster and later Second Master (Deputy Head), and upon his death in 2012 he bestowed a significant endowment on the school in order to help provide financial support for students in need.
Pupils are supported each year with means-tested bursary funding, including some who receive 100% fee relief. Donations to the A R Wheeler Fund enable the Foundation to provide the School with more funded places, ensuring an RGS education is attainable for all.
